Where are my programs?

  1. Check your desktop for the program icon.
  2. If you cannot locate the program on your desktop, click "Start" in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
  3. Click the "Programs" menu item to expand the submenu.
  4. Click the double down arrows at the bottom of the menu to expand your program list.

Can I secure my system when I leave my computer? Windows XP gives the user the opportunity to lock the workstation when it is not in use. This is a fantastic way to secure your critical information when you are away from your computer, and is a highly recommended practice. To lock your workstation, hit the Windows Key + L or:

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the keyboard.
  2. Click the "Lock Computer" option.
  3. Your computer is now locked and protected.

How do I unlock my computer? When you have returned to your computer and wish to begin work on it again, follow these steps to unlock your workstation:

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the keyboard.
  2. Type your password.
  3. Click "OK".
