NAC - Network Admission Control
JWU utilizes a network authentication and validation security system called Network Admission Control or NAC to prevent infected computers from accessing the network and infecting other computers. This ensures a safe, secure and reliable network for you. NAC helps prevent disastrous outbreaks of viruses and worms by scanning your computer for certain patches and anti-virus requirements set by the administrator and offers an easy way for you to fix your own computer.
Instructions for Initial Setup
In order for your computer to gain full access to the university network, including access to the Internet, you must install the NAC agent. To make this installation easier for you, instructions for how to set up the NAC agent and meet the requirements set forth by JWU can be found here.

On-Campus Network – ResNet
ResNet is the Student Resident Network, which allows you to connect to the University online resources as well as the Internet, from within your residence hall room. The University does not charge a fee for this service, all you need is a computer with a network card (or a wireless card in specified locations) and you can access the Internet anytime.

Protecting Your Computer
Due to increasing virus and worm outbreaks, it is recommended that you take steps to protect your computer before you utilize the University's Residential network.
Gaming Devices
Students are allowed to bring gaming devices onto campus. Students who wish to use these devices can connect to the network without the need to login and/or install the agent. Click here for information about using your computing and gaming devices on the JWU network
