UNIVERSITY HELP DESK

NAC – Gaming Devices

Students who wish to use gaming devices (e.g. Playstation (PS2, PSP, PS3); Nintendo (Gamecube, DS, DS Lite, Wii); Xbox or XBox 360) or another non-pc devices (e.g. iPod, Tivo, PDA) can connect to the network without the need to login or install the agent.

However, if students encounter problems getting their device on the network (typically due to new hardware revisions released), they should call the University Help Desk at 401-JWU-HELP or 401-598-4357.

The Help Desk staff helpdesk staff will ask for the device’s MAC address. This allows IT to identify the device and make the needed configurations to enable it to access the network.

The following links show how to obtain the MAC address from different devices:

If you have a PSP or Nintendo DS, follow these instructions for connecting to the JWU network.
